The Team
The Founder
Radha Raja
Radha Raja, hailing from the small town of Rajapalayam in Tamil Nadu, began her journey in Indian handcrafts as an activist and became an integral part of the esteemed philanthropic organization, ‘Paramparik Karigar.’ In her quest, she explored almost all the significant textile based handcraft clusters across India, unearthing the rich, untold history of the country’s handcraft heritage and recognizing the unparalleled potential of Indian handcrafted textiles as the most sustainable choice under the sun.
Kabira Textile is not just a business for Radha; it is her mission. Her goal is to promote Indian handcrafted textiles on a global scale, offering humanity a truly sustainable alternative. Her vision is to create a united family of artisans.
Radha holds a deep passion for extra weft techniques, particularly jamdani, and for surface textile crafts, especially handblock printing.
She firmly believes that we are all indebted to Mother Earth. Though we may never repay this debt, the least we can do is cease exploiting her in the name of fast demand.
